Opening Day Round Robin – Sunday, May 6th – 10AM to 2PM
This year, we officially kick off the season on Sunday, May 6th: we dust off our racquets, find our tennis shoes, play a little, make new acquaintances and have lunch (generously sponsored by Barrie Cox) - from 10AM to 2PM. Come join us for some food and fun!
Handicap Tournament – Sunday, May 27th – 1PM to 4PM
Under the Handicap Tournament format, a “handicap” is assigned to each player (similar to a golf handicap), allowing players of all levels to compete in a fun and informal way. The tournament is scheduled for Sunday, May 27th from 1PM to 4PM.
OTA Fair – Sunday, Jun 3rd – 1PM to 3PM
On June 3rd, come try some of the latest tennis racquets, learn some tips, and get in a good work-out while winning prizes. Participants will receive an OTA T-shirt, and a ticket to the Rogers Cup qualifiers. The cost to participate in the OTA Tennis Fair is $10.
Kathi Moyer Team Tennis Charity Event – Saturday, June 23rd
This new event is scheduled on June 23rd and will involve clubs from Scarborough to Ajax. The format is team tennis and is open to players of all levels. The event includes an informal evening BBQ and Dance. Proceeds to benefit the Rouge Valley Health System. (Additional fee.)
Canada Day Mixer – Friday, July 1st – 10AM to 2PM
Looking for something to do on Canada Day before heading out for evening festivities and fireworks? Join us for some casual tennis and a BBQ from 10AM to 2PM.
Starlight Social Theme Event – Saturday, July 21st – 7PM to 10PM
The 2008 Black and White Tournament was a huge success so we are planning another starlight social theme event for 2011. On July 21st at 7:00PM, come play into the evening and enjoy food, friends and zany fun. This year’s theme will be announced soon.
World Team Tennis Tournament – Saturday, August 13th - 11AM to 4PM
World Team Tennis is a unique team format that integrates singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Enjoy a variety of types of play and cheer your team mates on. This “A” level tournament, hosted by Club Pro Brian Hurd, is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th, from 11AM to 4PM.
Golf & Tennis Tournament – Saturday and Sunday, August 25th and 26th
This is a fun two stage event. We play tennis on Saturday and golf and dine at Royal Ashburn on Sunday. This year’s tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 25th and Sunday, August 26th. Participation is limited to 32 Glendale members and is on a first-come basis. (Additional fee.)
